Charleston Historic District
Charleston is known for the pristine ocean views, the marshlands thick with cordgrass, the live Oak Trees covered in Spanish Moss, but most importantly, the history that the Low Country of Charleston South Carolina has to offer. Charleston is home to the historic Battery where on April 12, 1861, the citizens viewed the first shots fired by the Confederate Army on Fort Sumter. The original United States flag is still displayed at Fort Sumter.
